I had a fun idea...
My kids, 10 and 12 year old sons, seemed to be living off of scrounging in the fridge lately.  If it is not yogurt, cottage cheese, deli meat, cheese or bread they were pretty much are not eating it.  I know they like good food, real food.  What if I taught my kids how to cook tasty simple recipes so that when they got hungry they did not always just reach into the fridge for the instant fix they were getting from this very narrow assortment of food.  Would empowering them with the skills to cook more than cheese toast result in them becoming self sufficient good cooks?  I posed the idea to my boys and while they seemed interested, it was still not so easy to get them engaged in the process.  Somehow the idea of making videos and a blog created interest so let's get started...

Today we began this process with cooking a savory polenta with cheese, garlic and spinach that they really love and spicy sausage balls.

p.s. Alex loves to make word based jokes, think Mad Libs and graffiti style edits of posters and such.   So you will notice that his retelling of a recipes might seem a bit tricky to read.  I assure you he is quite a good speller, he just can't let the opportunity for a word joke slip by.
